Jennifer Vallejo is a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with nearly 7 years of experience. She joined the therapy field in June of 2014, and became a member of the IMH team in September of 2014.
Jennifer graduated from Kankakee Community College with an Associates in Applied Science, PTA. When a patient comes for a visit, the therapist makes a rehabilitation plan based on the patient’s condition. The therapy assistant then works with the patient on carrying out the rehabilitation plan. Since Jennifer helps execute the plans set by therapists, she is familiar with a lot of the therapists techniques and specialties. “I have trained under 2 Physical Therapists (PT’s) that are trained in the McKenzie approach for cervical and lumbar spine pain. I have taken the lumbar course myself and plan to take the cervical course in the near future.” says Jennifer. “IMH has been a wonderful place to work and to enhance my skills as a therapist.”
When asked why she enjoyed working at IMH, Jennifer responded, “I enjoy working as a PTA under PT’s that truly value our opinions/findings. We all work well together to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.” She has seen great results and wants to help more people that may be suffering. “IMH has a great group of therapists that utilize an interdisciplinary approach to ensure the best results for the patients that we treat. Patients with new onset of chronic back or neck pain should come to IMH to get evaluated by Kelly and then see me for subsequent visits. We see great results with the McKenzie approach.”
