“Diane always greets everyone with a smile. She is a great resource for her coworkers when issues arise and we are so glad to have her in the business office. She is a great asset to IMH!”
Diane Brinkman grew up in Colfax, IL. She watched her mother work as a nurse and knew she wanted to work in a healthcare related field. When she married her high school sweetheart, he was going to be a chiropractor and she decided she wanted to be able to support him. Therefore, she attended Parkland and achieved her Associates degree in Medical Secretarial. While she always maintained a separate full time job, she was able to help her husband with this business whenever needed. In 1998, Diane joined the IMH family. She started her career as the lead receptionist/patient account representative at the IMH Kentland Clinic. After 8 years in that position, she transferred to the main business office at IMH. With her position in the IMH business office, she has less direct patient interaction but works more closely with them on the billing side.
Diane and her husband Jay live in Goodland, IN. They will have been married for 39 years on September 1st and have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. When she is not working, Diane has many interests to keep her busy. She still helps her husband with his business from time to time. She enjoys working in her garden and canning her own vegetables. She often spends time reading especially those written by Nicholas Sparks. She is huge Cubs and Blackhawks fan and takes time to go to as many games as she can. With of all those things to keep her busy, it’s no surprise that her favorite thing to do at home is mow her 2 acre yard – she finds it very relaxing! Of course, who doesn’t enjoy traveling and, with three of her children living in Washington state and one living in Wisconsin, she travels quite often to visit them.
When we asked Diane what she has enjoyed about working at IMH over the years she said, “I’ve always enjoyed the healthcare field, I learn something new all the time. And I love the people I work with. I’ve seen many come and go, but each one is a new adventure! I often see my co-workers more than my family – so they have become my extended family.” Others have referred to Diane as knowledgeable, helpful, and kind.
From all of us at IMH – Thank you Diane for your dedication and service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
