IMH Superstar: Kristi Rowe, MA – Kentland Clinic

“Having been in the same place for so long, I get to watch families grow and form a bond with them. It makes me happy” – Kristi

If you have ever visited the IMH Kentland Clinic there is a strong possibility that you have had the pleasure of meeting Kristi Rowe. She has been a member of the IMH family for 20 years, with all of her time devoted to the Kentland Clinic. Her passion for working with people and helping them stay well started when she was in high school. After school she would help take care of her grandfather when he was sick. Once she graduated from high school, she went on to attend Ivy Tech in Lafayette and received her Medical Assistant certification, graduating in 1996. When she started at Kentland Clinic in 1998, they had just re-opened in their new facility and she has been there ever since, making friends and caring for the patients. Now, there are certain patients that will request Kristi by name, because she has been with them so long.

Kristi very rarely sits still, even when she is away from her patients. She and her husband Mike are constantly volunteering where ever they are needed. Her 13 year old daughter Lexi is in softball, volleyball, and National Junior Honor Society. Mike is president for the Kentland Baseball Association, which means Kristi usually president of the concession stands at softball and baseball games. Outside of the local Kentland teams, her favorite baseball team is the Chicago Cubs – she dreams of meeting the team someday. When they have downtime, Kristi and her family like to go swimming and just spend time together. If she is home, she loves singing karaoke – Material Girl by Madonna is the go to song – but you won’t catch her singing out in public very often.

When we asked Kristi what she enjoyed most about working at IMH she said, “This may sound cliche, but I love how family oriented we are. We take care of our patients, but we also take care of each other. I love getting to know the patients, seeing them out in the community happy and doing well, and having them recognize me from the clinic.” Kristi has been described as caring, compassionate, and awesome to work with. “She always has a smile on her face, even in tough times.” – Kathy

From all of us at IMH – Thank you Kristi for your amazing service to our patients and dedication to IMH. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare.
