Iroquois Memorial Hospital would not be successful without the support of our incredible staff. Some members stand out as Superstars!
Each week, we will be featuring a new Superstar staff member to highlight their outstanding commitment and dedication to IMH and the patients we serve.
This week’s featured employee is Treva Schunke. Treva began her career at IMH in 1995, celebrating 23 years with the family in April. She comes to us from Milford, where she grew up, graduated high school, and worked for many years. When the Howard Industries, the local factory in Milford, closed their doors, Treva decided it was time for something different. In environmental services, Treva folds all of the linens and towels that come back from our outside laundry service. She cleans all of the personal laundry from the Iroquois Resident Home, towels for food services, and the scrubs worn by staff in the IMH Surgery Department.
Treva still resides in Milford with her husband of 36 years, Bill, and their Siamese cat, Bear. Her son and daughter-in-law, Elliot and Emily, live in Florida with her grandson, Will. In her spare time, Treva enjoys cooking; going through cookbooks and trying new recipes. She also loves to read mysteries, especially books written by Mary Higgins Clark. Treva is a nerd at heart and loves watching Jeopardy! Most people don’t know this about her, but she says she is actually very shy.
When we talked to Treva about what it’s like working in Environmental Services, doing laundry, she said, “I mostly enjoy the residents in the Iroquois Resident Home. They are all so grateful when I deliver their clean personal laundry. I love the satisfaction of providing all departments throughout the hospital with clean and plentiful laundry. It’s an important part of patient’s recovery and healing.” We would thoroughly agree and appreciate all of the hard work she puts in!
From all of us at IMH, thank you Treva for your outstanding service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
