IMH Team, Meet Our Team

IMH Superstar: Roberta Farrell, MA – Kentland Clinic

Iroquois Memorial Hospital would not be successful without the support of our incredible staff. Some members stand out as Superstars!

Each week, we will be featuring a new Superstar staff member to highlight their outstanding commitment and dedication to IMH and the patients we serve.

This week’s featured employee is Roberta Farrell, but she usually goes by Bert. Bert has been a member of the IMH family for 10 years. She is a medical assistant and works closely with the providers at the IMH Kentland Satellite Clinic.  Bert graduated from Tri-County High School, which is located in the Remington, IN area. She then moved on to receive her two year CNA and Medical Assistant degree from IV Tech. Bert said she has always been interested in the medical field, especially after watching her father battle with colon cancer. She enjoys helping people feel better and is considering furthering her degree to become a Registered Nurse. While Kentland Clinic is her home, she loves having the opportunity to travel to the other satellite clinics and meet new people!

When Bert is not taking care of patients at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.  Bert and her husband, Steve, have been married for 24 years. They have one fur baby, their Pomeranian, Zienna. While she does not have any children of her own, she enjoys spending time spoiling her nieces. Bert loves traveling and has visited from the East Coast as far as New York and Outerbanks, NC, to the west coast as far as Coronado Island, CA. Her favorite place to visit was San Diego, CA, but her dream vacation would be to visit Ireland. When she is home, Bert loves to play darts with her dart team, walk her dog, and golf: anything to stay active. Even though Bert is the epitome of a people person, she says most people would never guess that she used to be very shy!

When asked what she enjoyed about working at IMH, she said, “I love the people: my work family, and getting to know the patients. It makes my day when patients ask for me to check them in. IMH is such family oriented place and it has really helped me come out of my shell.” Her “work family” had nothing but nice things to say about her, as well. It was said that Bert is “caring and outgoing; she will go above and beyond for patients”.

From all of us at IMH, thank you Roberta for your outstanding service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
