Iroquois Memorial Hospital would not be successful without the support of our incredible staff. Some members stand out as Superstars!
Each week, we will be featuring a new Superstar staff member to highlight their outstanding commitment and dedication to IMH and the patients we serve.
This week’s featured employee is Charlotte Johnson. Charlotte has been a member of the IMH family for 42 years. She grew up in Watseka and graduated from Watseka Community High School. At the start of her career, Charlotte worked at the Iroquois Resident Home as a CNA and Activities Director. At that time, her mother, Geraldine Schultz, worked at the Resident Home and peaked her interest. She held that position for 22 of her years at IMH. Then, in 1998, she transferred to outpatient registration. Now, Charlotte is often one of the first people a patient sees when checking in for an appointment.
When Charlotte is not checking patients in for their appointments, she is busy with her big family. Charlotte and her husband, Glen, have been married for 15 years. She has three grown children, Amanda, Jeremy, and Jordan, and seven grandchildren including one due in March! Charlotte also has a lab named Jake, but they often call him the “2 second lab” because likes to run off with anything they set down for more than two seconds. Her favorite past times also include reading paranormal mystery books and working in the yard, as long as she doesn’t have to mow! She leaves that to Glen and his mower that is “too big for their tiny yard”. Many people don’t know this about Charlotte, but she also enjoys playing putt-putt golf.
When we asked Charlotte about what she enjoys about IMH, she said, “I enjoy the patient interaction and helping people. I’m one of the first people a patient sees, and I like trying to help people forget their problems for a short while by making them laugh.” And she does a great job at it, Charlotte has been at registration for so many years and makes such an impression that many patients greet her by name!
From all of us at IMH, thank you Charlotte for your outstanding service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
