Iroquois Memorial Hospital would not be successful without the support of our incredible staff. Some members stand out as Superstars!
Each week, we will be featuring a new Superstar staff member to highlight their outstanding commitment and dedication to IMH and the patients we serve.
This week’s featured employee is Beth Keller! Beth has been a member of the IMH family for 10 years. She began her career as a CNA in 2007, while she was attending school to become a Registered Nurse. Beth graduated from Sheldon High School and attended Kankakee Community College for her nursing degree. She chose to become a nurse because she really wanted to help people. Being able to comfort people, counsel them, and pray for/with them in their time of need is very rewarding for her.
When Beth is not caring for patients, she enjoys many hobbies as well as spending time with her family. Beth has four children, Whitney, Lindsey, Ethan, and Isabelle, ranging from ages 30 to 10. She also has two pets, Maggie, her cat, and Molly, her dog. In her free time, Beth enjoys cooking, landscaping, doing crafts, and reading. Her favorite books are anything written by Dean Koontz or Sandra Stanley.
When we asked what she likes about working at IMH, she said, “I love the people I work with, all departments, they are like family. I like being a part of the community, when someone comes into the ED and I’m able to help them feel better, to comfort them and pray with them. I like seeing them out in the community, and to know they are doing better.” However, in such a fast paced world, she wishes that people would take time to know that good healthcare sometimes takes a little longer, and be kind to your ER nurse. With such a kind heart like Beth’s, we can’t see how anyone could be mean to her, though.
From all of us at IMH, thank you Beth for your outstanding service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
