Iroquois Memorial Hospital would not be successful without the support of our incredible staff. Some members stand out as Superstars!
Each week, we will be featuring a new Superstar staff member to highlight their outstanding commitment and dedication to IMH and the patients we serve.
This week’s featured employee is Britnie Kaufman. Britnie has been a member of the IMH family for 5 years this month! If you have ever visited the IMH Emergency Department, Britnie may have been the nurse that cared for you. Her coworkers often refer to her as bubbly and outgoing. Britnie grew up in Milford, IL and was home-schooled all the way through high school. She studied and received her nursing degree from Danville Area Community College. Britnie says she chose a nursing career because she wanted to do something that would help people.
When Britnie is not helping people in the Emergency Department, she enjoys spending time with her family. Britnie is the oldest of six sisters! Two of her sisters have already studied and become nurses just like Britnie, and one is on her way. Britnie said she just can’t say enough good about the profession. She is still trying to recruit them to come work for IMH, though. Britnie enjoys cooking, tending to her vegetable garden (Is it spring yet?), and playing piano. While she doesn’t have any indoor pets of her own, she enjoys taking care of the many outdoor cats that roam her neighborhood.
When we asked Britnie what she enjoyed about working for IMH, she said, “Being an ER nurse is very fulfilling. It’s fast-paced and everyday is different. IMH is close to home and I really like the people I work with!” And from the census around the ER, they really like her too.
From all of us at IMH and the Iroquois Resident Home, thank you Britnie for your outstanding service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
