Iroquois Memorial Hospital would not be successful without the support of our incredible staff. Some members stand out as Superstars!
Each week, we will be featuring a new Superstar staff member to highlight their outstanding commitment and dedication to IMH and the patients we serve.
This week’s featured employee is Jody Bauer. Jody has had quite the journey at IMH. She began doing laundry in the hospital for Environmental Services when she was in high school. While attending Millikin University, she worked part time as a nursing assistant at Iroquois Resident Home. Then, just one day after graduating with her nursing degree, she began working in ICU at IMH. Jody did leave IMH for a period of time but, luckily for our patients, she returned and has been back with the IMH family for 15 years! After brief times working with both Surgery and the IMH MSP Clinic, Jody now works in the IMH Specialty Clinic on second floor.
Jody lives in Watseka and is married, with three daughters. Her daughter, Taylor, is attending University of Illinois on a volleyball scholarship. Madison is attending Wabash Valley Community College on a softball scholarship. Her youngest daughter, Kennedy, is a junior at Watseka Community High School and is following in the footsteps of her older sisters. When Jody isn’t helping patients at IMH, she enjoys relaxing, watching her daughters sporting events, and spending time with family.
When asked how she feels about being a part of the IMH family, Jody responded, “I love being a nurse at IMH. My job allows me to take care of a variety of patients and often help them get healthier. I also love the family-like atmosphere with my co-workers.” Jody has said that she is grateful that, in her nursing role in the IMH Specialty Clinic, she gets to work alongside one of her mentors, Sarah Kingdon, whom she credits with some of her nursing success.
Thank you Jody for your outstanding service. You are a true Superstar in Healthcare!
